Sadly, we have to say goodbye to three members of staff this month.
It was in 1993 that Mr Snowdon joined the school as Deputy Headteacher, after two spells as Acting Head, he became Headteacher on the 1st September 1999. Throughout the time he led the school, he sought to put the needs of the children first, developing their self-confidence and celebrating their achievements across all aspects of the curriculum.
The fantastic refurbished school which we are now enjoying is a testimony to his commitment to get the best he could for pupils, staff and the community.
Mrs Thornton joined the school in January 1984 and in her long career she has played an increasingly vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school. Over the years she has turned her hand to a wide range of tasks, she particularly enjoyed dealing with sick buckets!
However, it has been in her role as Finance Officer that she has excelled; making sure that our money is spent wisely. We wish them both a long and happy retirement.
Ms Dew has worked at Hinderwell for ten years. She brought a fresh approach and worked extremely hard to raise the profile of music in the school. We are sure you can all remember favourite concerts and productions that she led. She will be devoting more time to her music from January. We would like to thank her for her hard work and wish her every success in the future.
It has been a great pleasure working for you Mr Snowdon and would like to thank you for your commitment to the school all these years. Have an enjoyable and relaxing retirement!
Thank you for keeping tabs of my spending Mrs Thornton. Now where is that credit card! Try not to have numbers circulating in your head and enjoy your retirement.
Keep enjoying the music and singing Ms Dew. It was always a pleasure to hear you playing and the children taking your lead and singing so beautifully!
